My name is Emely and I am an accredited psychotherapist. I am  an accredited member of the British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapy (BABCP) and a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I have trained and worked within the field of psychology for the past 15 years both in England and abroad. I own and manage one private practice in Central London and will be opening another clinic in Tunbridge Wells, Kent in October 2018.

Throughout my career I have specialised in mood and anxiety disorders. This means that in addition to my general training in psychology and psychotherapy I also have further training within these specialisms.

Coming from a counselling psychology background I use a formulation-driven integrative framework to the practice of psychological therapy. I am trained in several evidence-based approaches including CBT and humanistic-experiential psychotherapies. An advantage of being trained in more than one approach is that I am competent in using a wide range of techniques and have the ability to fit the treatment to your needs, rather than be restricted to one set of 'tools' when practising therapy.

My past clinical experience includes working as Specialist Psychotherapist for the NHS in London with both with long-term and short-term conditions; as a Humanistic-experiential Psychotherapist in a Community-based Counselling Centres and within Primary Care in the Southern Parts of Sweden, a Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and in Private Practice in Los Angeles, California. I am well informed about bilingualism and multi-cultural identities and I am able to offer therapy in Swedish and English.

I have specialist training and clinical experience treating:

- Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) incl. complex PTSD

- Panic disorder (with and without agoraphobia)

- Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

- Specific phobia (such as fear of heights, flying, spiders etc)

- Health Anxiety

- Obsessive-Compulsive disorder (OCD)

- Major depressive disorder (MDD)

- Chronic depression

as well as non-diagnosable conditions such as;

- Low self-esteem

- Perfectionism

- Procrastination

- Emotion-regulation difficulties such as anger issues

- Bereavement

When I meet clients I do so with genuineness, all while ensuring sessions are well-balanced and professional whilst adhering to the ethical frameworks of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).

If this leaves you with further questions please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss in more detail.
