What does a formulation-driven approach mean?

A formulation-driven approach to psychotherapy means that all the interventions conducted within and outside the sessions are based upon a firm evidence-base. It means that your clinician can give you a rationale grounded within psychological research as to why she chose to use a specific methodology/approach to treating your problem.

Having been trained in multiple psychological therapies including humanistic-experiential, emotion-focused, and cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy and I am equipped to treat using a wide range of techniques rather than being stuck with one set of 'tools'. An advantage in choosing a practitioner trained in more than one psychological model is that the treatment can be tailored to your exact needs.
